Audiometric tests obtained in a sound-treated booth determine the nature and degree of hearing loss. These routinely include the use of tones and speech, and often include middle ear and acoustic reflex analysis as well.
This specialized test procedure uses a sensitive microphone placed in the ear canal to measure the responses generated by the hair cells of the inner ear. We use this test to evaluate children and/or others who cannot respond reliably to normal hearing test procedures. It can also provide valuable specialized diagnostic information regarding the status of cochlear outer hair cells.
We use behavioral tests which are suitable for the evaluation of the hearing of infants, young children and others who are not developmentally equipped to respond well to traditional adult measures.
This test is used as a diagnostic tool to evaluate those patients with balance problems such as dizziness or vertigo. Using various stimuli, state-of-the-art equipment precisely measures eye movement as it relates to balance mechanisms.
